Lion of the Year
2009-2010 Liberty Lions Club President Greg Turner delivered the final Lion of the Year award to Lion Arnold Zamazol on Monday, July 19 and congratulated him for all his efforts and hard work helping the Lions Club in their activities.
Liberty Lions visit Texas Lions Camp
Recently 4 Liberty Lions traveled to Kerrville to work at the Texas Lions Camp. They joined 390 other Texas Lions for the weekend to prepare the camp for summer campers. The Texas Lions Camp is a camp for children with physical disabilities and for diabetic children. The cost of the camp is completely covered by Texas Lions. Edmond, Martinez, Jones honored by Liberty Lions Club as youth scholarship winners

Congratulations to the three LHS students who performed well in the Lions' Club Youth Scholarship Contest held on this campus in January and at a district meet last month. LHS senior Trey Edmond won first place in the school-wide competition for writing a researched essay on the topic: "Diabetes: the Epidemic is Here." He will receive a $100 prize awarded by the Liberty Lions' Club.
Angelica Martinez won first place on the Outstanding Youth Contest, which measured the personal achievements and community service work of the competing students. Along with receiving the $100 prize from Liberty Lions' Club, Angelica made an impressive showing at the District competition held in North Houston. Angelica represented Liberty well.
Honorable mention goes to Matthew Jones, who demonstrated skill, congeniality, and sportsmanlike conduct in competing in both categories. Matt will receive a $50 prize for second place.
Liberty Lions Club appreciates the participation of these dedicated students and hopes to collaborate with LHS again on this project in the coming years. Mrs. Beth Weaver sponsored the effort through her English classes.
February Lion of the Month
Lion Sweetheart Morgan Webb recieves "Lion of the Month" form Lion President Greg Turner. Morgan is a Trainer for LHS, at a recent event Morgan came to the aid of a fellow classmate when she was injured. Due to her training as a Trainer she was able to care for the individual until EMS arrived.
Liberty Lions honor hospital district and Stratton
Lions Club President Greg Turner honored the elected members of the board for the Liberty County Hospital District (LCHD) Board Members, Bruce Stratton, Sissie Drake, Paul Henry and Charles Kaemmerling, as Organization of the Year, at the Mon., Feb. 2 Lions Club meeting.
